The Monument
The pub takes it's name from the historic memorial situated right outside the pub which was built in the 1670's to commemorate the Great Fire of London and to celebrate the rebuilding of the City. The fire began in a bakers house on Pudding Lane and lasted for four days, destroying the greater part of the City. Now you can sit and admire the Monument whilst enjoying a nice pint of ale and some hearty pub food. We're proud of our food, so only the best ingredients make it on to our menu. Choose from pub classics such as Gloucestershire Old Spot Sausages to Haddock & Chips and Burgers - not to mention our lighter mains such as Butternut Squash Risotto and Wholemeal Fusilli Pasta.
