Riverside Inn
In the charming village of Cound, at the heart of the Shrewsbury countryside, stands the postcard-perfect Riverside Inn country pub. The beautiful grade II-listed building boasts astounding views over the River Severn and fascinating heritage around the former local railway. The Severn Valley Railway line, constructed in 1861, used to run between the inn and the River Severn and the inn was in fact a station on the line called the Cound Halt. At the Riverside Inn, that heritage has been brought to life with an outdoor bar in one of the old Coach-House buildings where visitors are welcome to unwind and take in the scenery over a delicious drink from the expertly curated range. The rural riverbank setting offers a great opportunity to explore local walking paths before warming up with one of the pub’s specials and a cosy open fire through the winter months.
