This Greene King quality pub offers the finest selection of beers, real ales with a food choice to suit every taste. Fully refurbished in October 2007, everything is new from the carpets upwards, but we have not lost the valuable unique ambiance of the business. Located in the town centre on the banks of the canal The Kings Ransom is an outstanding pub, giving the impression the site is around 120 years old when the building itself is in fact only 11. A very great venue for the weekend, we operate good dress standards to ensure a friendly and comfortable atmosphere for everyone. The pub consists of two raised areas and unique extensive seating areas (including a covered pontoon) - smoking and non smoking - outside on the canal side. We are a friendly and welcoming pub with security on the door Thursday to Sunday. Come and have a meal or snack from one of our fantastic menus or just pop in with friends for a pint of the best.
