Situated in the picturesque village of Worsley, The John Gilbert commands an outstanding position within a conservation woodland area on Worsley Brow. To the right of the main entrance you will see the original gatehouse to Worsley Old Hall, which dates back to the early 1700's. Undergoing a major refurbishment in late 2008 The John Gilbert is beautifully styled with sumptuous seating whilst still maintaining many of its original period features. Our family friendly dining is enhanced through use of chilled music and elegant lighting to create the perfect atmosphere. Our separate Bistro area can be reserved area for private functions i.e. Christenings, birthdays or for any special occasion. Whilst our award winning Real Ales and extensive Draught and Spirit products are not to be missed, our fabulous range of wines available are certainly not to be missed, from a delicious South African sauvignon blanc to a zesty south Australian riesling. Our extensive new menu is already proving very popular with a wide range of choice to suit all needs. Weekends see a transformation of The Gilbert to the perfect venue for the end of your hard working week, relax and unwind with a glass of wine or two getting the rest of the bottle free on selected wines, or enjoy a bottle of prosecco for only £9.99 to really start the  weekend off. And a perfect way to finish the weekend off on Sunday is our superb  carvery made fresh by our chefs.
