Four Mile Inn
We all know the joke about the horse that goes into a bar, but there's a folk memory in this popular community pub of the time, many years ago, when someone really did bring a horse inside - and then couldn't get the poor creature out. No long faces in The Four Mile Inn today when they tell that story, nor indeed when they welcome locals, people passing through on the busy A96 to Inverness, and travellers en route to the nearby airport. Take a close look at the framed black-and-white photographs on the wall and you'll get a flashback to the days when horses pulled up outside The Four Mile Inn and the locals stood by with flat caps, bicycles and shotguns.
