Contemporary comforts meet olde-worlde atmosphere in this handsome inn in Blunsdon, which offers a cosy wood-beamed, old-style interior complete with original wooden beams and an assortment of tucked-away nooks and crannies. Though the building itself dates back to the 18th century, a tasteful 2010 refurbishment saw the Cold Harbour smartened up, while still retaining the classic feel of a country pub. It is a popular dine-out spot for local families celebrating birthdays, anniversaries and other events, but also attracts guests from further afield, many of whom stay at the Premier Inn property next door. During warmer weather, the Cold Harbour's outdoor seating area, which is prettily decorated with flower-filled window boxes, attracts al fresco diners. The Cold Harbour enjoys an enviable location in the verdant county of Wiltshire. The pub sits just outside the attractive market town of Swindon, which features a pedestrianised shop-filled centre that is ripe for exploring as well as a lively arts programme anchored by the Wyvern Theatre and Arts Centre.
